Mendefera, 23 January 2013 – A Seminar was conducted for civil servants in Mendefera city with a view to popularizing voluntary blood donation.
Mr. Awet Teklemariam and Mr. Ali Mekhnun from the communication unit of the National Blood Bank gave extensive briefings pertaining to blood transfusion and donation, and indicated that voluntary blood donation is the only means of banking blood in the country. They further encouraged the participants to become regular donors, and thus obtain psychological satisfaction.
Mr. Abraham Yohanes, who donated blood for the 13th time, voiced moral satisfaction with becoming a volunteer to this end. Likewise, Eden Zerayacob, Eyob Tadese and Alganesh Kidane expressed readiness to join the Blood Donors Club, and called for the reinforcement of communicational outreach in this regard.
The representatives of the National Blood Bank disclosed that there exists higher awareness among students to this end, and said that the institution would step up its endeavors pursuing communication.
