Anseba region: Environment activists call for enhanced community role in preservation of tourism resources

Environment activists in Anseba region have called on fellow inhabitants to enhance their role in the preservation of tourism resources such as indigenous trees, monasteries, wild animals and unique landscapes.

Keren, 25 January 2013 – Environment activists in Anseba region have called on fellow inhabitants to enhance their role in the preservation of tourism resources such as indigenous trees, monasteries, wild animals and unique landscapes.

Among the activists, Mr. Gebremedhin Girmatsion, Mr. Medhanie Goitom and Mr. Solomon Gebrekristos explained that the region’s biodiversity and the status of historical sites there is in much better condition. They also called for the compiling of necessary research to this end, besides stressing the need for enhancement of communicational endeavors in this regard, in addition to calling on pertinent bodies to popularize sustainable utilization of such resources.
