New school opens in Keren city with a view to serving children with mental disorder

Keren, 26 January 2013 – A new school has opened in Keren city with a view to serving children with mental disorder, and has already registered 28 students.

Ms. Tiegisti Mehari, head of pre-school education in Anseba region, pointed out that preparations are underway to put in place similar facilities in Hagaz, Elabered and Geleb sub-zones. She also called on Area administrators to play due role in this regard. Furthermore, Ms. Tiegisti called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards combating the social stigma to this end, and thereby raise the production capacity of such children.

Among parents of the children, Ms. Zufan Tesfai and Aisha Idris expressed satisfaction with the service the school is rendering.
