Farmers in Hagaz sub-zone called upon to effectively harness agricultural resources

The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on farmers in Hagaz sub-zone to effectively harness agricultural resources and thereby play due role in national endeavors of ensuring food security. He made the call at a meeting he conducted with Area administrators and the inhabitants. Hagaz, 7 February 2013 – The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on farmers in Hagaz sub-zone to effectively harness agricultural resources and thereby play due role in national endeavors of ensuring food security. The regional Administrator lauded the irrigation farming activities taking place in the locality, and advised farmers to focus on livestock and poultry production as the area is endowed with the necessary resources to this end. He further called on the inhabitants to practice judicious utilization of social service facilities and collaborate in promoting community-based style of living.

The participants of the meeting on their part expressed readiness to enhance participation in national development programs, and put forth views regarding several issues.
Moreover, Mr. Gergis disclosed that the Government has mapped out various development programs for implementation in the region.
