Multi-functional village banks in Emni-Haili sub-zone making noteworthy input in securing select seeds

Farmers in the villages of Adi-Hanso and Adi-Bihailai, Emni-Haili sub-zone, said that multi-functional village banks there which got functional as of the year 2002 are making noteworthy input in securing select indigenous seeds and raising the level of harvest. Mendefera, 9 February 2013 – Farmers in the villages of Adi-Hanso and Adi-Bihailai, Emni-Haili sub-zone, said that multi-functional village banks there which got functional as of the year 2002 are making noteworthy input in securing select indigenous seeds and raising the level of harvest.

Among the farmers, Ms. Mibrak Zemuy, Mr. B’idu Fisehatsion and Esayas Fisehaye expressed satisfaction with the service being rendered by the multifunctional banks, the number of customers of which is on the rise. They further called on other villages to become beneficiaries of such banks.

Ms. Senait Syum, supervisor of multi-functional village banks in the Southern region, explained that there exist 320 beneficiaries of seed banks in the two villages. Furthermore, she disclosed that similar service is being rendered in 8 villages in Debarwa, Areza, Adi-Quala sub-zones.
