Eritrean Daniel Teklehaimanot ranks Best African Sportsman of 2012

Eritrean renowned cyclist Daniel Teklehaimanot who is racing for the Australian club Green Edge has been named the Best African Sportsman of the year 2012, according to a ballot conducted through www.sports.com.

Asmara, 11 February 2013 – Eritrean renowned cyclist Daniel Teklehaimanot who is racing for the Australian club Green Edge has been named the Best African Sportsman of the year 2012, according to a ballot conducted through www.sports.com. Daniel held the rank excelling famous sportspersons such as Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire, Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon and South African athlete Caster Semenya.

Born in the Eritrean town of Debarwa in 1988, Daniel has managed to become the Fastest African Cyclist consecutively for the third time.

Moreover, the Eritrean Cycling Federation has been nominated the best African Federation of 2012.
