Anseba region: Community magistrates described crucial in popularizing judicial cultural norms

The inhabitants of Anseba region said that community magistrates are good means of popularizing judicial cultural norms, besides the fact that they are playing significant role in settling legal cases relevantly and without loss of time and energy.

Keren, 14 February 2013 – The inhabitants of Anseba region said that community magistrates are good means of popularizing judicial cultural norms, besides the fact that they are playing significant role in settling legal cases relevantly and without loss of time and energy.

Among the inhabitants, Sheikh Idris Mohammed-Ali and Ms. Mamet Andom lauded the government’s endeavors in setting up community magistrates at administrative area level, the impact of which has become a positive factor as regards promoting socio-economic activities. Likewise, Ms. Saba Kidane and Mr. Abdullahi Mohammed, magisterial judges, pointed out that such legal institutions have visibly simplified the work load of courts.

Moreover, Ms. Halima Saleh, head of community magistrates in the region, indicated that the importance of settling legal cases at magisterial level is a sound strategy the Ministry has seriously been working on.

Reports indicate that there exist more than 50 community magistrates in Anseba region.
