Business owners in Ginda make financial contribution for observances of 25th anniversary of Nadew Command’s demise
Reports indicated that business owners in Ginda town have extended a total of 300,000 Nakfa for observances of 25th anniversary of the Nadew Command’s demise, during which Afabet town was liberated from Ethiopian occupation forces.
Ginda, 18 February 2013 – Reports indicated that business owners in Ginda town have extended a total of 300,000 Nakfa for observances of 25th anniversary of the Nadew Command’s demise, during which Afabet town was liberated from Ethiopian occupation forces.
The 72-hour operation was carried out in 1988 marking the visible desperado on the part of the Derg regime and its patrons.
One of the business persons, Ms. Letekidan Woldemichael, who participated in the counterattack against Nadew Command, said that the operation was one in which heroic feats of courage and martyrdom was witnessed on the part of the freedom fighters, and expressed gratification upon celebrating the Silver Jubilee of the great victory.
Likewise, Mr. Ogbazgi Hadgu, Mohammed Ali and Osman Idris pointed out that the Eritrean people’s commitment of making the national holidays vibrant attests to their eagerness to promote the spirit of nationalism and honor the trust of martyrs.
