The Association of Dairy Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone indicated that it is striving to boost milk production through ensuring more supply of green feed. It made the statement at an assessment meeting during which it was stated that the Association supplied more than 80,000 liters of milk to the local markets in the past year. It made the statement at an assessment meeting during which it was stated that the Association supplied more than 80,000 liters of milk to the local markets in the past year.
Mr. Hailat Andu, chairman of the Association, pointed out that it would enhance its control mechanisms as regards distribution of milk. Mr. Tesfamariam Teame, Administrator of the sub-zone, on his part called on the Association to strive to lower milk price in the area, and expressed the Administration’s readiness to collaborate with it.
Mr. Bahta Tedros, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, disclosed that the Association is exemplary, and called on the members to resort to better cattle breed for higher output.
