Southern Red Sea region Assembly holds 11th regular meeting

The Assembly of the Southern Red Sea region held 11th regular meeting. Mr. Ali Nur Ali, Chairman of the Assembly, pointed out that the inhabitants are witnessing improvement of livelihood in line with the putting in place of various social service facilities, and called on pertinent bodies to enhance follow-up on such facilities. Assab, 6 March 2013 – The Assembly of the Southern Red Sea region held 11th regular meeting. Mr. Ali Nur Ali, Chairman of the Assembly, pointed out that the inhabitants are witnessing improvement of livelihood in line with the putting in place of various social service facilities, and called on pertinent bodies to enhance follow-up on such facilities.

Reports presented at the Assembly meeting reveal that commendable accomplishments have been registered as regards soil and water conservation as well as renovation of dirt roads, in addition to enhancing the impact of educational and health facilities vis-à-vis popularizing community-based style of living.

Following the presenting of several reports, the Assembly lauded the active participation of the inhabitants in the implementation of development programs, and called for sustained community initiatives to this end. Moreover, it put forth views and adopted decisions targeting the need of raising school registrations in rural areas, promoting community-based style of living and equipping youth centers.

In concluding remarks, Mr. Ali Mahmoud, the regional Administrator, called on government bodies and the inhabitants to exert stepped up endeavors in raising the production capacity of youths. He further noted the need of reinforcing irrigation farming.
