Eritrean community members in Riyadh city commemorate International Women’s Day

The Eritrean community members in the Saudi city of Riyadh and its environs commemorated International Women’s Day with zeal.

Asmara, 08 March 2013 – The Eritrean community members in the Saudi city of Riyadh and its environs commemorated International Women’s Day with zeal.

Speaking on the occasion that witnessed participation of a number of nationals, Mr. Mohammed Omar Mahmoud, the Eritrean Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, lauded the major role of Eritrean women in the armed struggle for independence and the nation-building process. He further noted the need for nurturing a generation of youths which highly regards the values to this end, and that parental role is crucial in the process.

A number of solidarity messages were delivered on the occasion during which heroic feats of Eritrean women were depicted through various artistic presentations. Moreover, a fashion show was staged.
