Asmara, 9 March 2013 – The Ministry of Transport and Communications indicated that a training course was organized with a view to ensuring professional excellence of driving instructors. A total of 57 driving instructors from various corners of the country took part in the training which lasted for more than 6 weeks.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Yohanes Gebrai, coordinator of the training, pointed out that the Ministry would sustain such initiatives which are essential in promoting safe driving, and that the training was organized following sober scrutiny of the ongoing licensing process.
A representative of the beneficiaries of the training, voiced his colleagues’ readiness to translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice.
Ms. Senait Lijam, director general of the Land Transport Department, lauded the participants’ enthusiasm, and called on them to strive to nurture competitive and responsible drivers.
A training course of this type is being conducted for the fifth time since 2005, and a total of 250 driving instructors have already become beneficiaries, reports added.
