Call made for reinforcing cooperation aimed at ensuring health of the society

During an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera the inhabitants of Mendefera sub-zone called on the Ministry of Health, the population and administrations to reinforce cooperation aimed at controlling communicable diseases and ensuring the health of the society. Mendefera, 10 March 2013- During an assessment meeting conducted in Mendefera the inhabitants of Mendefera sub-zone called on the Ministry of Health, the population and administrations to reinforce cooperation aimed at controlling communicable diseases and ensuring the health of the society.

In the report presented by a committee represented by all branches of the different ministries it was disclosed that the activities so far conducted have registered commendable results and called for strengthening awareness campaigns on the importance of environmental sanitation.

Mr. Laine Okbazgi, head of supervision and controlling of communicable diseases in the MOH branch, explained that the sporadic prevalence of communicable diseases is due to lack of environmental sanitation and impregnated bed nets usage.

He further called on the committee to work in cooperation with concerned service provision institutions to ensure environmental sanitation.

Mr. Rezene Fisha, Director General of Social Affairs in the region, on his part called on the inhabitants for the sustainability of the respectable culture of the society in maintaining environmental sanitation.
