Central region: Call made for further integrated endeavors as regards ensuring educational excellence

The Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region has called for further integrated endeavors on the part of parents, teachers and students as regards ensuring educational excellence.

Asmara, 11 March 2013 – The Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region has called for further integrated endeavors on the part of parents, teachers and students as regards ensuring educational excellence. It made the call at an assessment meeting during which it was stated that efforts being exerted to this end have witnessed commendable outcome vis-à-vis the task of raising female participation in education.

Accordingly, two Junior Schools in the region have been upgraded to High School level during the onset of the current academic year, and remarkable accomplishments have been registered pertaining to adult education and ensuring conducive environment for the teaching-learning process.

Ms. Halima Mohammed, head of the branch office, indicated that it has a great deal of tasks to fulfill taking into account the region’s resources, and called on school administrations to step up joint efforts with a view to enhancing the impact of education.

Moreover, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, the regional Administrator, pointed out that the Administration is engaged in renovation of schools and building new ones, and called on the inhabitants to sustain community undertaking initiatives in this regard.

The participants of the meeting on their part put forth views regarding several issues.
