Haikota, 15 March 2013 – The inhabitants of Haikota sub-zone said that irrigation farms in the locality have created remarkable job opportunities, besides their input to the local market. They further indicated that the agricultural ventures are making ample supply of fruits and vegetables locally, and that the exposure they provide as regards modern mode of farming has become significant in promoting such practice.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Asha Adem and Selma Abdalla explained that the farms are playing vital role in lowering prices. Moreover, Mr. Tesfalidet Abraham and Mr. Haile Gebrekal, both of them workers, pointed out that they could obtain reasonable income upon working in the farms, besides the fact that they have acquired skills pertaining to irrigation farming.
