Afabet, 15 March 2013 – The silver jubilee of the demise of Nadew Command and liberation of Afabet semi-urban center is due to be marked from the 17th to the 19th of this month.
Popular carnival, exhibition, community camps, cultural shows, documentary films, dramas and narrative works would be staged in connection with the commemoration of the historic event. Furthermore, technical preparations to this end have been finalized, while some invited guests have already arrived in the semi-urban center, according to reports.
Employees of the Eritrean Electricity Corporation, Tewolde Gebrekidan and Robel Redae disclosed that they have been engaged in electrification process in various corners of the semi-urban center.
Likewise, a number of youths from the EDF, Red Sea Construction Company and inhabitants pointed out that they have been carrying out several tasks such as embellishment of streets and erecting a stage. They further expressed satisfaction with taking part in the commemoration, in the start of which impressive spirit of patriotism is being witnessed.
Mr. Gergis Mezgebe, head of economic development in Afabet sub-zone, said that the Administration and the inhabitants have finalized preparations as regards reception of guests.
