The Eritrean community members in Portland city and its environs, US, have expressed readiness to step up participation in State affairs.
Asmara, 20 March 2013 – The Eritrean community members in Portland city and its environs, US, have expressed readiness to step up participation in State affairs. They made the pledge at a meeting, during which they lauded the commitment of the Eritrean people and their leadership towards ensuring social justice and economic freedom.
Mr. Berhane Gebrehiwet, Executive in charge of affairs in the Eritrean Embassy, gave extensive briefings regarding the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis political, diplomatic and socio-economic developments. Moreover, he said that the nation is heading to a new era of economic investment after frustrating external conspiracies, and that higher popular participation is vital to this end.
The participants of the meeting lauded the government’s commitment to improve the livelihood of citizens, and further voiced readiness to become beneficiaries of the prevailing investment prospects in the Homeland.
