4th Festival of Higher Education Institutions contributes in assessing creativity and innovation of students

During a concluding program conducted on 21 March at the Eritrean Institute of Technology at Mai-Nefhi, it was indicated that the 4th Festival of Higher Educations Institutions that was being conducted from December 2012 had significant contribution in assessing creativity and innovation besides developing competitiveness among students.

Asmara, 22 March 2013- During a concluding program conducted on 21 March at the Eritrean Institute of Technology at Mai-Nefhi, it was indicated that the 4th Festival of Higher Educations Institutions that was being conducted from December 2012 had significant contribution in assessing creativity and innovation besides developing competitiveness among students.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, Mr. Daniel Iyasu, Head of NUEYS Sawa and Higher Education Institutions branch, said that the 4th Festival that was conducted under the theme “Our practical programs for strengthening our organization and awareness” in the 9 colleges for about 3 months had significant contribution in developing awareness of students in contributing to the national development programs.

Dr. Tesfamichiel Haile, Vice-President of the Eritrean Institute of Technology, on his part explained that the Festival was a forum in which students were able to exchange experiences and called for its sustainability.

Likewise, Dr. Ogbagebriel Bekure, Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, indicated that the Festival was not only an occasion in which students developed competitiveness among themselves at college and individual level but also contributed for assessing tendencies of the students and inclinations.

The participants of the festival on their part explained that such gathering of students, besides making significant contribution as regards assessing tendencies and inclinations of students, it had created strong competitiveness among students. They further reiterated that the cultural events have also created awareness among students in keeping intact the culture and values of the society.

The 4th festival of Higher Educations Institutions highlighted sports competitions, traditional cloth design, general knowledge contests as well as other programs.
