Communicable diseases on the decline in Fiesko administrative area

The inhabitants of Fiesko Administrative area, Haikota sub zone indicated that communicable diseases have dramatically been reduced owing to the community-based environmental sanitation campaigns conducted by the branch office of the Ministry of Health Gash-Barka region. Asmara, 26 March 2013: The inhabitants of Fiesko Administrative area, Haikota sub zone indicated that communicable diseases have dramatically been reduced owing to the community-based environmental sanitation campaigns conducted by the branch office of the Ministry of Health Gash-Barka region.

The Administrator of the administrative area, Mr. Ali Humed indicated that the reduction of communicable diseases in the area attests to the joint efforts of the local inhabitants in the campaign.

The head of administration and finance of the ministry of Health in Gash Barka region, Mr. Ibrahim Haj noted the significance of community-based environmental sanitation in reducing communicable diseases. He further called on other inhabitants of the Gash-Barka region to emulate the community based environmental sanitation.

The supervisor of environmental sanitation in the branch office in the Gash Barka region, Mr. Tekleberhan Teklezgy, said that five villages and two Administrative areas of the region have effectively applied the community-based environmental sanitation, thus being free from various diseases.
