In line with efforts being made to control and eradicate TB in the Southern region, the branch of the Ministry of Health in the region is working round the clock towards facilitating medical equipment in health centers for the same cause, according to Ms. Beletesh Gebreab, branch head of information and documentation center in the region. Asmara, 27 March 2013: In line with efforts being made to control and eradicate TB in the Southern region, the branch of the Ministry of Health in the region is working round the clock towards facilitating medical equipment in health centers for the same cause, according to Ms. Beletesh Gebreab, branch head of information and documentation center in the region.
In a speech she delivered in a meeting held in Debarwa town in connection with the World TB Eradication Day, Ms. Beletesh indicated that 467 TB patients have received proper medical care at various medical centers while, 14 others in remote areas have been sent to specialized health centers in the year 2012 alone.
Noting that there exists low capability of identifying TB patients and then send them to health centers in the region, Ms. Beletesh called for the need to apply the culture of sending people who are experiencing symptoms pertinent to TB to a nearby health centers as soon as possible.
