NUEW branch in the Gash Barka region strives to improve women’s livelihood

The branch office of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) in the Gash Barka region is exerting utmost efforts in implementing various programs to support women there improve their livelihood, according to Ms. Fatina Ali-Nur, head of social services in the branch office. Asmara, 27 March 2013: The branch office of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) in the Gash Barka region is exerting utmost efforts in implementing various programs to support women there improve their livelihood, according to Ms. Fatina Ali-Nur, head of social services in the branch office.

Accordingly, the main objective of the program is to create a viable ground to raise awareness amongst the society in general and women in particular.

Noting that the previously given lectures and courses have played a key role in improving the women’s livelihood, Ms. Fatna noted that a number of courses have been given to women pertaining to environmental sanitation, child and mother health care, saving and credit scheme among others.

She also indicated that the previously implemented programs and courses have been successful, and called on the beneficiaries to make maximum use of their know-how.
