During a visit the Norwegian delegation led by Mr. Knut Fagerbakke, Vice Mayor of Trondheim, conducted to Keren city, it was disclosed that the friendship between the two cities is strengthening.
Keren, 29 March 2013- During a visit the Norwegian delegation led by Mr. Knut Fagerbakke, Vice Mayor of Trondheim, conducted to Keren city, it was disclosed that the friendship between the two cities is strengthening.
During its stay in Keren for a week, the delegation visited different social services provision institutions, medicine factory Azel, and ancient buildings that have potential for tourism attraction.
Likewise, the delegation during its visit to health institutions expressed appreciation for the school participation of hearing and vision impaired women, and pledged to donate water transporting truck for Keren Hospital and school materials to different schools.
In the meeting conducted to commemorate the 20 years of friendship between the two cities, Mr. Tekie Keleta, Administrator of Keren city, said that the activities being conducted to strengthen the relations between the two cities is exemplary.
Ms. Guri Amundsen, Chairperson of the Friendship Committee of the two cities, and Prof. Tdond Arnesen on their part said that they have been able to witness that Eritrea on top of its natural resources comprises people living in harmony respecting each other’s values.
Reports indicate that the friendship committee donated school materials in 2005 worth half a million Nakfa, a truck for Keren Municipality for clearing garbage, as well as a variety of medical supplies to Keren Hospital.
