The Eritrea Traffic Safety Association held its 2nd Congress on March 29 at the Assembly Hall of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers ( NCEW). Asmara, 30 March 2013: The Eritrea Traffic Safety Association held its 2nd Congress on March 29 at the Assembly Hall of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers ( NCEW).
In a speech he delivered at the Congress, Mr.Woldenkiel Abraha, Minister of Transport and Communications, pointed out that the revised Proclamations on Traffic Safety and related directives have been finalized and ready for putting into effect. The Minister further stressed the need for collective effort on the part of concerned institutions towards ensuring gratifying outcome in the process.
Mr. Woldenkiel went on to emphasize the need for doing away with negligence on the part of drivers which instance, he stressed, lies at the root of traffic accidents.
The Chairman of the Traffic Safety Association Mr. Girmai Abrehe, explained on his part that initiatives continue to be taken to cope with the challenge of overcoming shortcomings in the domain of traffic safety.
The Eritrean Traffic Safety Association was established in 2007.
