9th YPFDJ Conference underway in Birmingham

The 9th YPFDJ Conference convened on 28 March in Birmingham, UK. Over 750 Eritrean youth representatives from different European, North America, Africa, Australia and the Middle-East as well as Diplomats, community leaders, Eritrean Embassy officials, PFDJ representatives and invited guests are attending the conference.

Asmara, 31 March 2013- The 9th YPFDJ Conference convened on 28 March in Birmingham, UK. Over 750 Eritrean youth representatives from different European, North America, Africa, Australia and the Middle-East as well as Diplomats, community leaders, Eritrean Embassy officials, PFDJ representatives and invited guests are attending the conference.

The Conference which is being held under the theme “Nurturing Patriotic, Conscious,  Youth Movement” is aimed at bequeathing Eritrean values and culture to the Eritrean youths and encourage them participate in the social, political and economic development programs in the Homeland.

Mr. Samson Woldu, Chairperson of the Conference Organizing Committee, after well coming the conference participants, said that the main topics of this year’s conference is the economic and professional contribution to Eritrea and also the continuing organizational development of Eritrean communities.

In his well coming speech, H.E Mr. Tesfamicael Gerahtu, Eritrean Ambassador to the UK, praised the participants and congratulated them for organizing the 9th YPFDJ Conference and wished them a successful conference.

At the Conference annual reports and updates of YPFDJ from across the world are being presented.

During the opening ceremony UK based Youth Cultural Group presented a musical drama depicting the Eritrean history of the struggle for independence.
