Asmara, 2 April 2013: As part of the continuing efforts made to ensure food security and create conducive ground for investment ventures, Ministers, Army commanders, Administrators and as agricultural experts conducted a tour of inspection in Gala Nefhi Sub-zone on March 31.
They carried out the inspection in the villages of Merhano, Tselot, Adi Hakefa, Adi Keshi and Lamza, during which they observed development infrastructures being put in place focusing on dairy farming and animal green feed with a view to promoting dairy production. In this connection, the inspection team held discussion on ways and means of reinforcing water conservation initiatives.
Mr. Habtemichael Woldetinsae, an investor, said that he constructed 2 Km.-long dirt road for connecting his 17- hectare plantation with the main route, and that he is giving primary attention to highland fruits, vegetables and grain.
Members of the visiting group on their part stressed the significance of introducing highland fruits and poultry farming, among others.
The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsay Gebrehiwet, noted the significance of exerting more endeavors towards attaining the set goal.
