The Association of fruits and vegetables farmers in Gala-Nefhi sub-zone indicated that it is striving to raise production both in quantity and quality.
Asmara, 9 April 2013 – The Association of fruits and vegetables farmers in Gala-Nefhi sub-zone indicated that it is striving to raise production both in quantity and quality. It made the statement at a meeting conducted last Sunday during which it was stated that the Association, which was established in the year 2011, currently comprises 237 members who own a total of 257 hectares of farmland.
Mr. Gezae Habte, chairman of the Association, pointed out that it has been exerting endeavors towards ensuring ample and fair-priced fruits and vegetables supply in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. He further disclosed that the members reply on sustainable water supply.
Among the Association members, Mr. Mohammed Ahmedin and Mr. Fitsum Tesfatsion commended the material and other support being extended to them by the government, and said that they would step up efforts to raise their level of output.
Mr. Gezae called on Association members to extend a helping hand towards enhancing organizational capacity and spirit of synergism.
