PFDJ presents certificate of merit to Mr. Tekie Tesfai

The PFDJ today presented certificate of merit to Mr. Tekie Tesfai, a writer and translator, in connection with his overall contribution as regards development of national languages in general and that of Tigrinya in particular.

Asmara, 11 April 2013 – The PFDJ today presented certificate of merit to Mr. Tekie Tesfai, a writer and translator, in connection with his overall contribution as regards development of national languages in general and that of Tigrinya in particular.

The certificate of merit was presented by Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed-Seid, Secretary of the PFDJ, during the ceremony at the Front’s Central office.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zemihret Yohanes, Head of Research and Documentation at the PFDJ, described Mr. Tekie’s contribution over the past 20 years as an intellectual feat that demanded remarkable persistence. He further stated that such input is a monumental one as regards development of local languages, especially Tigrinya. The PFDJ official further pointed out that no achievement could be realized short of self-motivation and enthusiasm, and that the national’s contributions attest to this reality.

Mr. Tekie on his part indicated that the all-round support extended to him by the PFDJ was a major prerequisite in the success of his project of preparing a dictionary, the process of which is a taxing job. He further called on the Front to sustain such support for writers.

Mr. Alemseged Tesfai, writer and researcher, on his part voiced appreciation for the overall intellectual contribution of Mr. Tekie.
