Debarwa, 12 April 2013 – The Administration of the Elementary School in Debarwa urban-center pointed out that community initiative has become a significant factor of its development.
Mr. Mohammed-Ali Omar, director of the school, disclosed that the residents constructed a fence for the school through raising a total of 300,000 Nakfa, thus ensuring a conducive environment for the teaching-learning process, sports activities and afforestation.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that the inhabitants of Adi-Geda and Adi-Gered villages, Debarwa sub-zone, are renovating the Elementary School in Adi-Geda through mobilizing their financial and labor resources.
Among the inhabitants, Rev. Hadgu Tsegai and Mr. Yonas Tekletsion said that they would sustain active participation until the conclusion of the process.
Mr. Mehari Tekie, director of the school, noted the timeliness of the popular undertaking, and disclosed that the buildings are being renovated in full scope.
Likewise, Mr. Teklemariam Gebreyesus, head of economic development in Debarwa sub-zone, expressed appreciation for the community initiatives, and stated that the Administration would collaborate in the process.
