Asmara, 12 April 2013 – The Ministry of Tourism indicated that it is striving towards fostering tourism development through promoting human resource capacity.
Mr. Yemane Hailemariam, head of the Ministry’s training center, pointed out that the center has been working on priority basis regarding improvement of service quality in connection with the sector, and that human resource has been the main focus in this regard. He further disclosed that the Ministry has been exerting endeavors in furthering quality of service on the part of tourism-pertinent institutions and businesses.
Moreover, Mr. Isaias Hailemichael, resource person, said that 45 workers of service businesses in Asmara and its environs are receiving training in the Center pertaining to cooking, and that a one-month training was given to managers and waiters from such businesses last month. Among the trainees, Kidane Deres and Million Elias expressed satisfaction with the training.
There exist a total of around 4,000 people working for tourism-related firms, according to reports.
