Inhabitants of Hadamu and Mekerka administrative areas undertaking soil and water conservation popular campaigns
Inhabitants of Hadamu Administrative area, Dekemhare sub-zone and Mekerka Administrative area, Logo-Anseba sub-zone are undertaking soil and water conservation popular campaigns, reports from the respective areas indicated.
Asmara, 14 April 2013- Inhabitants of Hadamu Administrative area, Dekemhare sub-zone and Mekerka Administrative area, Logo-Anseba sub-zone are undertaking soil and water conservation popular campaigns, reports from the respective areas indicated.
The popular campaign in Hadamu administrative area include preparing land for cultivation as well as building terraces to control erosion and that so far 30 hectares of land have been prepared.
From the inhabitants of Hadamu Administrative area Ms. Kidanu Tesfatsion and Ms. Asmara Tekle expressed satisfaction for participation in the popular campaign and that they expect abundant produce in the communing harvest season.
Likewise, the inhabitants of Mekerka Administrative area pointed out that soil and water conservation popular campaign being undertaken are for their advantage and that they are exerting efforts to catch every drop of water in the coming rainy season.
Mr. Zekarias Bereketeab, member of the MOA branch in the Logo-Anseba sub-zone, on his part indicated that they are participating in the popular campaign in providing advice and information and that so far 7,500 meters of terraces have been built.
