Mr. Tekie Keleta, Mayor of Keren city, said that integrated endeavors on the part of pertinent bodies is a vital prerequisite in ensuring effective tax collection. Keren, 17 April 2013 – Mr. Tekie Keleta, Mayor of Keren city, said that integrated endeavors on the part of pertinent bodies is a vital prerequisite in ensuring effective tax collection. He made the remark at a meeting he conducted with the city residents, during which he said that timely tax payment is significant in furthering the national development drive, especially those related to the putting in place of social services.
Mr. Tekie further called for stepped-up community efforts targeting forestry control, soil and water conservation, as well as popularization of economical use of water. He also called on Area administrators to enhance their role as regards controlling illegal sale and construction of land.
Furthermore, Maj. Woldu Gebretinsae explained that joint undertakings involving communities and the Army have become a springboard to various development accomplishments, especially raising agricultural output, and asserted that they would gain momentum.
