Secondary School education commences in Enda-Giorgis

The parents and students in Enda-Giorgis semi-urban center expressed satisfaction for the commencement of Secondary School education in their area.

Enda-Giorgis, 21 April 2013- The parents and students in Enda-Giorgis semi-urban center expressed satisfaction for the commencement of Secondary School education in their area.

They explained that due to lack of high school students were compelled to travel to Adi-Quala and as a result the school participation of students in general and that of female students in particular has been minimal.

11th grade student, Mebrhit Girmai said that student were forced to travel long distance for secondary school education and that to date female students would have the opportunity of continuing their education staying with their parents.

Mr. Gebrezgiabhier Tewolde, head of Ministry of Education branch in Adi-Quala sub-zone, indicated that previously there has been one Secondary School in the sub-zone and that currently there are three and the problem of students is alleviated.

In Adi-Quala sub-zone there are 25 schools providing regular education.
