The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) Central Committee has conducted its 14th regular congress under the theme “Integrated Investment on Youths: For Multi-Faceted Development”.
Asmara, 22 April 2013- The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) Central Committee has conducted its 14th regular congress under the theme “Integrated Investment on Youths: For Multi-Faceted Development”.
In an opening speech, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwot, Administrator of the Central region pointed out that since youths are the ones who would shoulder the nation-building responsibility, they should wisely and consciously face all challenges. He further stated that since development gives answer to all questions and social justice is realized through development, it is imperative that youths exert the necessary endeavors towards reinforcing the national development drive.
The participants conducted extensive discussion on the reports presented regarding the on-going efforts to strengthen organizational capacity as well as the outcome and contribution of media activities targeting the youth.
Mr. Sultan Seid, Chairman of the NUEYS, indicated that the open discussion conducted was the positive side of the congress, and called for stepping-up efforts to ensure females participation in all activities of the Union. He further indicated that during the next six months, the NUEYS would strive to put into practice the recommendations issued at the meeting.
A total of 170 representatives from the six Administrative regions as well as Sawa and Higher Education Institutions participated in the congress.
