NUEYS Central region branch opens new library

As part of efforts to nurture reading habit among the youths, the National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) Central region branch has opened a new library within its premises.

Asmara, 23 April 2013- As part of efforts to nurture reading habit among the youths, the National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) Central region branch has opened a new library within its premises.

Reports indicate that the library which was inaugurated on 19 April could accommodate from 100 to 150 customers at one time and that efforts would be exerted to qualitatively and quantitatively develop it in cooperation with stakeholders.

Among the beneficiaries, students Sabrin Ahmed and Yoel Yonas said that since the library is located in the center of the city, they would have the opportunity to go there and read at any time, and that it would motivate them develop their knowledge and attain to higher educational standard.

Ms. Elilta Beyene, head of the library, on her part indicated that currently the collection of books in the library comprises mostly fiction and that other reference books would be added in the near future.
