Asmara, 27 April 2013 – The Office of Police Administration in the Northern Red Sea region indicated that enhanced youth role is vital as regards crime prevention. It made the remark at a seminar conducted with students of the College of Marine Science and Technology, during which extensive briefings were given regarding law.
Heading the seminar, Col. Mahmoud Hamd, Commander of Police Force in the region, said that moral integrity, positive thinking and demonstrating exemplary role are characteristic traits of the Eritrean society, and called on the present youth generation to keep intact such values and extend a helping hand pertaining to doing away with unpleasant new peculiarities in this connection.
He further disclosed that the prevalence of national values has been an indulging cause for lower instance of crimes, and that youths should play major role in their popularization.
The process of ensuring lasting peace calls for responsible community in general and youths in particular, he added.
The seminar participants lauded the promotional venture of police members, and expressed readiness to collaborate with them.
