Ministry organizes training for 35 driving instructors

A total of 35 driving instructors who have been attending a 6-week theoretical and practical training course organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications graduated last Thursday.

Asmara, 27 April 2013 – A total of 35 driving instructors who have been attending a 6-week theoretical and practical training course organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications graduated last Thursday.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Esaias Tekeste, coordinator of the program, explained that the organizing of the training is a continuation of the endeavors towards promoting safe driving and reducing instance of traffic accidents, and expressed conviction that it would have a remarkable input to this end. He further disclosed that the training dealt with traffic rules, traffic control standard, auto mechanics, driving learner manual, Proclamation No. 154/2006 and First Aid.

A representative of the graduates pointed out that the training was organized with a view to nurturing responsible drivers, and thereby avoid traffic accident, and expressed his colleagues’ readiness to play significant role towards the realization of the set goal.

Training courses of this type have been given on regular basis since 2005. The current graduates are the 6th batch and a total of 285 driving instructors have become beneficiaries of such courses.
