Potable water supply project being implemented in Hawush Administrative area

Reports indicate that a solar energy-powered potable water supply project is being implemented in Hawush Administrative area at a total expenditure of more than 4 million Nakfa in collaboration among the Administration of Anseba region, stake holders and the inhabitants.

Asmat, 30 April 2013 – Reports indicate that a solar energy-powered potable water supply project is being implemented in Hawush Administrative area at a total expenditure of more than 4 million Nakfa in collaboration among the Administration of Anseba region, stake holders and the inhabitants.

Mr. Tsehaye Mihretab, coordinator of the project, disclosed that the facility would comprise 4 water distribution stations, a water well and 2 Km-long pipe, besides a reservoir accommodating 50 cubic meters. He further pointed out that more efforts are being exerted to finalize the implementation of the facility at the time set, and that the community’s potable water demand is expected to be met following its launching.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Suleiman Mohammed Adem and Ms. Fatina Jimi’e Adem expressed satisfaction with the launching of such project, and lauded the sustained government endeavors of ensuring social justice on the basis of equitability of social services.

Hawush Administrative area is inhibited by more than 1,250 nationals engaged in herding and rain-fed farming.
