Nacfa, 3 May 2013 – The inhabitants of Mariet Administrative area, Nacfa sub-zone, said that they would engage in further popular undertakings as regards soil and water conservation. Moreover, they disclosed that local water demand for humans and livestock could be met following the accomplishment registered regarding construction and renovation of micro-dams on the basis of a 6-month popular undertaking.
Mr. Ali Abdalla, Administrator of the locality, indicated that the Administrative area has been striving to promote the production capacity of the inhabitants, and that community initiative has made remarkable impact as regards development of the area.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Omar Humed, Ms. Asha Ahmed and Mr. Omar Mahmoud expressed appreciation for the achievement made nationwide to this end through community-led ventures.
They also pointed out that participation of government bodies was vital in the community’s previous undertaking, which gave rise to ample water reserve for this year.
