Student Week has been conducted in the four sub-zones of the Southern Red Sea region with a view to enhancing spirit of competition among students, besides providing the groundwork for their creative capacity.

Assab, 3 May 2013 – Student Week has been conducted in the four sub-zones of the Southern Red Sea region with a view to enhancing spirit of competition among students, besides providing the groundwork for their creative capacity.

The event in 34 schools involved various educational and sports contests, while a number of creative works and fashion shows were staged.

Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, head of culture, sports and health, and Mr. Mahmoud Mohammed, head of clubs and media, both from the Education Ministry’s regional branch, explained that the event is conducted annually with wide-scope organization vis-à-vis the teaching-learning process. Pointing out that the event has made remarkable impact so far, they further called for stepped-up student participation to this end.

Among students, Halima Omar and Meron Medhanie said that the event provided the groundwork for them to identify their inclinations and for practical exposure in connection with their theoretical knowledge. They also lauded the government’s commitment towards nurturing dynamic students, and asserted that they would enhance role in this regard.
