Gursub settlers call for popularization of community-based style of living

The inhabitants of Gursub Administrative area who have been leading community-based style of living called for popularization of community-based living style so as to ensure equitability of social service facilities.

Haikota, 7 May 2013 – The inhabitants of Gursub Administrative area who have been leading community-based style of living called for popularization of community-based living style so as to ensure equitability of social service facilities. They further asserted that they are in a position to effectively utilize the available social service facilities following their resort to community pattern of living.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Fergi Mohammed, Mr. Adem Hussein and Ms. Asha Ahmed Ali expressed satisfaction with living as a community.

Mr. Mohammed Osman, local Administrator, said that the new location where the inhabitants have settled has comparative advantages as it is located along the Barentu-Tesenei route, besides the fact that 2 elementary schools and potable water supply facilities have been put in place there. Moreover, he indicated that there exists a health institute near the locality, and called on the rest of the inhabitants to take similar initiative as regards shift in mode of living.
