Central region: Preparations for Independence Day observances reaching finalization

The Administration of the Central region pointed out that the preparations for Independence Day observances are reaching finalization.

Asmara, 10 May 2013 – The Administration of the Central region pointed out that the preparations for Independence Day observances are reaching finalization.

Mr. Zerit Tewoldebirhan, Managing Administrator of the region, indicated that the programs as regards the event have been organized up to the level of Area administrations and villages, and that the ongoing Student Week in connection with the momentous Day has provided the groundwork for nurturing national values. He further disclosed that the carnival show which would be staged by communities of 13 Administrative areas and 40 institutions are expected to depict the values in connection with the event through new creativity.

Moreover, Mr. Zerit said that community banquets would also be conducted at 160 spots, and lauded the active participation of the inhabitants in the celebrations.
