Endeavors underway to finalize construction of dam in Debri-Adi-Hans before onset of the rainy season
Reports indicate that stepped-up endeavors are being made to finalize construction of a dam in Debri-Adi-Hans before the onset of the rainy season. Asmara, 10 May 2013 – Reports indicate that stepped-up endeavors are being made to finalize construction of a dam in Debri-Adi-Hans before the onset of the rainy season.
Mr. Samson Tesfamichael, coordinator of the project, explained that the dam is due to have remarkable impact as regards promoting irrigation farming in the area, besides securing water for humans and livestock.
Mr. Kidane Woldesilasie, Administrator of Logo-Anseba sub-zone, disclosed that the project is being implemented at government expenditure of 21 million Nakfa, and that more than 600 families would become beneficiaries of an integrated farm involving drip irrigation techniques on the basis of the dam.
Meanwhile, the Public Technique Service Center is engaged in removal of sedimentary deposits at the dams in Liban, Habela, Qerana-Kudo and Dieda Administrative areas, and the venture is expected to be finalized shortly, according to reports.
