The members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Sweden extended material support worth 200,000 Euros to members in the Homeland. The items include wheelchairs, crutches, ophthalmic laboratory items, eye glasses, computers, printers, patient gowns and office equipments.
Asmara, 13 May 2013 – The members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Sweden extended material support worth 200,000 Euros to members in the Homeland. The items include wheelchairs, crutches, ophthalmic laboratory items, eye glasses, computers, printers, patient gowns and office equipments.
Mr. Gebrebirhan Eyasu, Chairman of the Association, indicated that the branch was established on 1994 in collaboration with citizen philanthropists, and expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by it. He further disclosed that the branch has been extending material support worth 200,000 Euros to the Association in collaboration with its stakeholders, besides providing a total cash of around 8 million Nakfa and opening a computer center in Mendefera city.
Mr. Gebrebirhan said that the ENWVA has been rendering medical services to visually impaired members, and that those having serious cases have been obtaining 50% grant for treatment abroad. Moreover, he pointed out that the extended items would be distributed to all Association branches in the country.
The ENWVA branches abroad are located in Sweden, Germany, Norway, Holland, Denmark and Oakland, USA.
