Inhabitants of Gula, Mentai, Alebu and Gursub Administrative areas to sustain popular undertaking

The inhabitants of Gula, Mentai, Alebu and Gursub Administrative areas, Haikota sub-zone, said that they would sustain their initiative as regards soil and water conservation.

Haikota, 13 May 2013 – The inhabitants of Gula, Mentai, Alebu and Gursub Administrative areas, Haikota sub-zone, said that they would sustain their initiative as regards soil and water conservation. They further indicated that such undertakings have made adequate impact regarding raising agricultural output and environmental stability, and that the ongoing community venture would continue until the onset of the rainy season.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Mili’ete Haile, Mr. Mohammed-Nur Ibrahim and Ms. Asha Osman disclosed that active participation is being witnessed in the undertaking which is expected to be conducted in an organized manner. They further stated that the construction of terraces and water catchment walls has become a springboard to increased plant production capacity.
