The inhabitants of Adobha sub-zone said that they anticipate increased harvest following the accomplishment of community ventures which lasted for around 6 months and were also aimed at environmental protection.

Adobha, 14 May 2013 – The inhabitants of Adobha sub-zone said that they anticipate increased harvest following the accomplishment of community ventures which lasted for around 6 months and were also aimed at environmental protection.

The inhabitants pointed out that the community undertakings involved construction and renovation of roads, as well as terraces. They further asserted that they would sustain such initiative.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Fatina Hamd, Ms. Amna Idris, Ms. Fatina Mohammed and Mr. Osman hamd disclosed that active community participation was witnessed in the process, especially on the part of women.

Mr. Zerizgi Nemariam, head of economic development in the sub-zone, stated that more than 10 ponds have been constructed in Dirit and Hasta areas on the basis of popular undertakings, while the dirt roads linking Adobha with Hasta, Nacfa and Arareb have been renovated.

Moreover, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed-Nur Rejeb, Administrator of the sub-zone, explained that the secret behind such impressive initiative is the inhabitants’ resort to community-based living style.
