Southern Red Sea region: Mobile libraries playing significant role in nurturing reading culture among EDF members
Members of the EDF in Southern Red Sea region said that mobile libraries are playing significant role in nurturing the reading culture amongst their ranks. Assab, 16 May 2013 – Members of the EDF in Southern Red Sea region said that mobile libraries are playing significant role in nurturing the reading culture amongst their ranks.
From the Army members, Misgun Hailu, Medhanie Tekhleab, Solomon Fisehaye and Samson Netsereab indicated that the libraries are adapted to the mobility of military life, and expressed satisfaction with their pliability and resource, which has helped them upgrade their intellectual capacity.
Mr. Idris Osman from the NUEYS branch in the region pointed out that the establishment of such facility is part of the Union’s endeavors as regards nurturing dynamic youths. He further disclosed that the venture has made remarkable impact in popularizing the culture of reading, and that the establishment of new readers’ clubs attests to it.
The mobile libraries are presently concentrated around Debaisima area, but the Union is due to expand the service to 5 stations in the future.
