Ongoing preparations for Independence Day observance attest to prevalence of spirit of nationalism, Say Assab residents
Assab, 18 May 2013 – The residents of the port city of Assab said that the ongoing preparations for the 22nd Independence Day anniversary attest to the prevalence of spirit of nationalism among the citizenry.
Among the city residents, Mr, Hadish Tsegai, Mr. Taha Saleh and Mr. Tesfamariam Siyum indicated that such colorful celebrations attest to the way nationals deeply cherish national independence vis-à-vis the martyrdom it demanded. They further pointed out that the momentous Day is a time when nationals should reiterate their pledge to honor the trust of martyrs, and disclosed that the programs to be staged in connection with the event are expected to adequately depict the national development pace through diverse artistic creativity.
Meanwhile, the Administration of the Southern Red Sea region stated that the preparations which have been made in connection with Independence Day observances at regional level have been finalized. Accordingly, the celebration involving cultural shows, community banquets, as well as general knowledge and sports contests would last until the 26th of this month.
