Programs regarding Independence Day observance continue with patriotic fervor in Gash-Barka region

Reports indicated that programs in connection with Independence Day observance are continuing with patriotic fervor in all sub-zones of Gash-Barka region.

Barentu, 20 May 2013 – Reports indicated that programs in connection with Independence Day observance are continuing with patriotic fervor in all sub-zones of Gash-Barka region.

Accordingly, an exhibition has been opened in Barentu city by the Administrator of the region, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, highlighting the region’s cultural diversity vis-à-vis the accomplished development activities, while cycling tournaments were conducted among the 8 sub-zones.

Mr. Rezene Abraha, chairman of the region’s holidays coordinating committee, disclosed that the celebrations at regional level would continue for 2 days adequately depicting the current theme: “Eritrea – Shield of Resilience and Nobility of Work.”

Among the participants, Ms. Halima Mohammed-Seid, Mr. Mohammed-Osman Ahmed and Mr. Hamd Osman asserted that such colorful celebrations attest to the way nationals deeply cherish the momentous Day, and said that their livelihood is improving in line with the development pace in the region.

Meanwhile, various activities were staged in the celebrations at sub-zonal level since the 12th of this month.
