Different infrastructural facilities put in place at more than 1.6 million Nakfa over the past 22 years: Administration of Anseba region

The Administration of Anseba region indicated that different infrastructural facilities have been put in place at government expenditure of more than 1.6 million Nakfa over the past 22 years.

Keren, 22 May 2013 – The Administration of Anseba region indicated that different infrastructural facilities have been put in place at government expenditure of more than 1.6 million Nakfa over the past 22 years.

Mr. Gebru Haile, director general of infrastructure department, elucidated that 30% of the budget is related to the construction of 136 schools, while potable water supply projects and construction of roads entailed 18% and 14% of the total expenditure respectively. He went on to explain that 24% of the expenditure was utilized for construction of office accommodations.

Accordingly, more than 100 roads encompassing small and medium-sized bridges have been built and renovated, while 17 Km-long roads within Keren have been asphalted and potable water supply facilities put in place in 264 villages. Moreover, 15 market places have been made available and residential complexes sold.

Mr. Gebru also disclosed that future undertakings of the Administrative office include reinforcement of ventures regarding potable water supply, construction of ring road along Keren-Hashela-Begu route and the finalization of construction of health institutions, among others.
