The Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand are celebrating the 22nd Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal.

 

Asmara, 22 May 2013 – The Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand are celebrating the 22nd Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal.

Speaking at the observance in Melbourne city which involved various cultural shows, Mr. Beshir Idris, Consul General of the Eritrean Embassy to Australia and New Zealand, noted that the event is being celebrated at a time when the nation has demonstrated its invincible dignity. He further pointed out that the role of nationals in the country and abroad was vital in the nation-building process over the past 22 years, and that further integrated endeavors are required for the realization of the cherished goal.

Mr. Omar Yasin, chairman of the Eritrean community, said that the event is a time when nationals should reiterate their pledge of honoring the trust of martyrs.

Performances by Sinit Cultural Troupe added color to the celebration that is continuing in various cities in Australia and New Zealand, according to reports.
